ANF seizes 1.217 tons narcotics in 14 countrywide operations

ISLAMABAD: Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) has seized 1.217 Tons narcotics and arrested 15 persons involved in drug trafficking during counter-narcotics strikes across the country.

The seized drugs comprised 1.073 Tons Hashish, 6.2 Kg Opium, 2.2 Kg Amphetamine, 1 Kg Heroin and 82 Kg Psychotropic Tablets.

As per details here on Thursday, ANF Quetta while carrying out intelligence based operation at general area of Killi Shakoor Khan, Tehsil Gulistan, District Qilla Abdullah seized 237 Kgs Hashish.

The drug was stocked at an isolated site which was to be handed over to another narcotic gang, as per initial reports.

Yet in another operation, ANF Quetta intercepted a Toyota Pick-up (without registration number) near Azad Landhi, RCD Road, Tehsil Dalbandin, District Chaghi, recovering 5 Kg Hashish. Two persons on board identified as Ghulam Muhammad and Shah Noor both residents of Washuk have been arrested on the spot.

In third operation ANF Quetta on pursuance of information carried out operation at District Qilla Abdullah seized 850 Kg Hashish.

The drug was stocked at an isolated site situated at general area at Kili Daman, Tehsil Gulistan. The accused escaped from the spot taking advantage of darkness.

ANF Rawalpindi recovered 900 Grams Heroin from a parcel being sent to Australia through a private courier service company based at Islamabad. Heroin was concealed in a parcel of books.

In another operation, ANF Rawalpindi arrested a foreign bound passenger identified as Asad Zaman, resident of Upper Dir at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad while he was boarding for KSA by Flight No. WY-346 and recovered 1.42 Kg Amphetamine concealed in his travelling bag.

In third operation, ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a Suzuki Bolan near China Chowk, Haji Shah Road, Attock and recovered 600 Grams Hashish from personal possession of the accused identified as Ashfaq Hussain, resident of Attock.

ANF Lahore intercepted a motorcycle near Nestle Milk Centre, Basti Pull Wala, Shekhani Seetpur Khangrah, Doma Road, Muzaffargarh and recovered 1 Kg Opium and 6 Kg Hashish from personal possession of two accused namely Saqlain Abbas and Javed Hussain both residents of Muzafargarh.

In another operation, ANF Lahore stopped a suspected Honda Civic Car near Sahianwala Motorway Toll Plaza, Faisalabad and recovered 4.8 Kg Opium and 4.8 Kg Hashish concealed in secret cavities of the car. Three persons on board, identified as Malang Khan and Hazrat Zeb both residents of Upper Dir and their lady accomplice Shabana Bibi, resident of Rawalpindi.

In third operation, ANF Lahore intercepted a motorcycle near Green Town Chowk, Millat Road, Faisalabad and recovered 450 Grams Opium from personal possession of the accused identified as Muhammad Zubair, resident of Faisalabad.

In fourth operation, ANF Lahore raided at Main GT Road, Lahore and recovered 150 Grams Heroin by arresting a local drug peddler Ghulam Abbas.

In fifth operation, ANF Lahore apprehended a local drug peddler namely Rizwan Ali, resident of Gujranwala near Shell Petrol Pump, Begowal Adda, Wazirabad Road, Sialkot recovering 750 Grams Hashish from his personal possession.

ANF Peshawar in collaboration with ASF arrested a foreign bound passenger identified as Mahmood Wahab, resident of Hangu at Peshawar Airport, Peshawar and recovered 860 Grams of Amphetamine concealed in his trolley bag. The accused intended to board for Bahrain by Flight No GF-785.

ANF Karachi while acting on a tip-off, raided near Educational Institute at Machi Miyan Market, Kharadar, Karachi and recovered 19.2 Kg Hashish from personal possession of the accused identified as Sardar Ali, resident of Peshawar.

In addition, ANF Karachi in pursuance of information raided an office of a clearing agency located in the area of Kharadar, Karachi and seized 63.6 Kg Pronix Tablets and 8.5 Kg Xanax Tablets.

In a follow-up operation, ANF Karachi raided a site at Sector 11-G, Godhra Muslim Dispensary, Abbasi Nagar, New Karachi, resulting in arrest of the absconder namely Muhammad Arif, resident of Karachi along with recovery of 10.6 Kg Xanax Tablets.

All cases have been registered at respective ANF Police Stations under CNS Act 1997 and further investigations are underway.
