Customs Peshawar begins collection of info about dual nationality of officers

PESHAWAR: The Customs House Peshawar has started collecting information about the nationality of the officers serving in the department in order to validate their citizenship.

The sources informed Customs Today  that the high-ups in the Customs Department have started collecting the data of officers serving on higher posts at the Customs House Peshawar and have the dual nationality.

The investigation carried out by Customs Department revealed that the Inland Revenue Service has four, the Pakistan Customs has three and the Commerce and Trade Groups have two officers each with dual citizenship. Soon the record collected will be handed over to the Federal Board of Revenue for further action. It is nessesory to mention here that  government  is taking all possible measures to detect those employees who are working in different departments holding dual nationality . Sources told that stern action will be taken againsts who not declaring the names of customs officers, said that two of them have the nationality of America and one possess citizenship of Canada.

Earlier, Chairman FBR Tariq Mahmood Pasha had ordered the collection of data against the officers of Pakistan Customs who possess the dual nationality.
