FAISALABAD: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation has failed an attempt to smuggle foreign origin perfumes worth Rs 17,00,000 involving duty and taxes Rs10,25,000 during operation.
According to the details, the Customs Intelligence and Investigation intercepted a Nissan truck bearing registration no: GLT-3040 near Nawan Lahore Jhang Road for a routine checking.
While checking the vehicle, the customs team recovered almost 1690 pieces of perfumes made in UAE, France and Spain. The team asked the owner namely Muhammad Mazhar Abbas to produce the documents regarding the legal import of the cloth but he remained fail to do so on which customs confiscated the smuggled perfumes. Customs Intelligence and Investigation has against the accused further investigation are underway in this regard.
