ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Dry Port’s examining staff is doing a violation of Section 155-B, 155-C of Customs Act-1969 by handing over the examination inventory to clearing agents for feeding the examination report into WeBoc System.

According to details given by official sources of the Islamabad Dry Port (IDP) that it has been noted with great concern that the examining officers/inspectors, after examination of the imported consignments, hand over the examination inventory to the clearing agents for feeding examination report in the examiner’s user of the WeBoc System.
It was told that Customs Today that handing over users’ ID to an unauthorized person is a violation of above said sections of the Customs Act-1969. It adds that, according to above said sections of Customs-Act 1969, the person who violated said sections, will be punished under sub Section 74 & 75 of Section 156 of the Customs Act.
Sources told CT that Deputy Director IDP has directed all the examining staff to feed the examination report in the WeBoc System by using their user-ID personally without the involvement of any unauthorized person. It further adds that failing to do said direction will face penalty or punishment under the aforementioned law against the Customs Examination Staff as well as against the unauthorized (clearing agents) persons.
