Peshawar Customs collects Rs1223.63m in 28 days of March

PESHAWAR: The Customs Collectorate has collected Rs1223.64 million revenue during first 28 days of March of current Financial Year 2017-18 against Rs 876.98 million generated in previous Fiscal Year 2016-17.

In this way the Customs Collectorate collected Rs 346.66 million more revenue in March against of previous FY 2016-17.

Statistical department of Customs Collectorate informed Customs Today that the Customs House collected Rs454.15 million revenue under the head of customs duty (CD) up to March 28 whereas the Collectorate generated Rs 0.87 million on head of withholding tax and Rs77.75 million has been collected as redemption duty (RD).

The Customs Collectorate collected Rs351.23 million revenue under the head of sales tax during the month of March of current Fiscal Year 2017-18.

The Collectorate collected Rs 204.60 million on head of AIT under which the Collectorate generated Rs 24.60 million from AIT Exports during 28 days of March in current FY 2017-18.

The Collectorate also collected Rs11.64 million from federal excise duty (FED) in March of current month which also added handsome part of revenue to the monthly collection of Customs House.

Assistant Collector Customs Collectorate Asma Javed Paracha expressed her stratification over the performance of Customs Collectorate and said that customs department working hard to enlarge the tax circle in order to generate more revenue than the assigned targets.

Asma Javed further said that the Customs Collectorate under the supervision of Collector Saeed Jadoon has been working to eliminate the risk of leakages to the customs exchequer and corrupt practices will not be tolerated which cause loss of millions to the national kitty.

Assistant Collector Asma Javed further said that the positive activities of customs staff needs to be lauded for which they serve with dignity and hard work.
