Faisalabad Customs impounds NDP Toyota Yaris car on secret info

FAISALABAD: The Custom Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad took into possession a non-duty-paid foreign origin Toyota Yaris car. The market value of the impounded vehicle is Rs1.5million involving duty and taxes of Rs1.2million.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Director Rana Irfan Shouqat received a tip-off regarding the smuggling of said vehicle. A raiding party, comprising Muhammad Tahir Iqbal (Superintendent), Intelligence Officers Irshad Ali, Mansoor Nasir, Muhammad Nasrullah (Havaldars), Muhammad Naeem Niazi, M Shahbaz, Muzamil Hussain, Shouqat Hayat, M Rafique and Zeshan Farooq (Sepoys), was constituted which set up a picket near PainsraJhang Road Faisalabad and intercepted the said car bearing registration No: LWJ-8958, Model 2000, 1300-CC.

The customs team asked the owner of the vehicle identified as M Hanif son of M Bakhsh, tehsil and district Faisalabad, to produce the legal documents regarding the possession of the vehicle, but he failed to satisfy the team. The customs team took the vehicle into possession and registered a case against the accused person.
