Faisalabad Customs releases four consignments after receiving evaded duty & taxes

FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation released at least four consignments worth Rs566876 after receiving an evaded amount of duty and taxes in the last month of March.

The consignments released by the Customs Intelligence consisted of foreign origin generator priced at Rs96508, foreign origin Engine HT valued at Rs130202, F/O perfumes worth Rs295386 and a consignment of F/O tyres numbered 20 priced at Rs44780 during said period.

The customs has made confiscations under Section 156(1)89 and 90 ibid read with Section 3(1) (3) of the Import and Export Control Act-1969 after the owners failed to produce any document showing the legal import of the items.

The tax evasion was detected by a team comprising Superintendent M Tahir Iqbal, Intelligence Officers IrshadAli, Mansoor Nasir, and Sepoys Ajamal Hussain and Muhammad Musaddiq Ahmad.
