Shipping Activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Five ships, MSC Maria Elena, Amalthea, White Fin, Alpine Penelope and Maglala scheduled to load/offload Containers, Cement, Diesel oil, Mogas and LNG took berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Pakistan Gasport Consortium Terminal respectively during last 24 hours, said a report issued by Port Qasim Authority (PQA) here on Tuesday.

Meanwhile another ship, Sakizaya Champion carrying Soya Bean Seeds also arrived at outer anchorage of Port during last 24 hours.

Eleven ships namely, MSC Maria Elena, Amalthea, Riva Wind, Thang Long, White Fin, Navios Achilles, IVS Windsor, Sun Ploeg, Maersk Brigit, Maglala and Alpine Penelope are currently occupying PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Wheat, Project Cargo, Palm Kernal, Coal, LNG, Palm oil and Diesel oil/Mogas respectively.

A cargo volume of 177,776 tonnes, comprising 140,903 tonnes import cargo and 36,873 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,886 Containers (TEUs), (1,069 TEUs imports and 3,228 TEUs exports) was handled at the Port.

Three ships Thang Long, Maersk Brigit and MSC Maria Elena sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while two more ships Sun Ploeg and Amalthea are expected to sail on same day in the afternoon.

A total of five ships, Maersk Nicolis, APL Miami, Maritime Setoshio, NCC Maha and Aris-T scheduled to load/offload Containers, Clinker, Palm oil Canola Seeds are expected to take berths at QICT, PIBT, LCT and FAP respectively on Tuesday.
