PESHAWAR: The regional board meeting of National Accountability Bureau, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has authorised one inquiry against employees of the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) and several other against officers and private persons regarding corruption and cheating the public at large.
According to a statement issued here on Friday, the accused persons have allegedly misappropriated millions of rupees funds in construction, carpeting and use of substandard material in roads at the Regi Model Township, Peshawar. It is alleged that these persons also misappropriated funds in construction of sewerage system, water supply, plantation, etc at the township.
The decision was taken in the board meeting which was chaired by Farmanullah Khan, director general KP NAB, in Peshawar. The meeting was attended by directors, deputy prosecutor general and case officers.
Another inquiry was authorised against officers/officials of the revenue department, Charsadda district, regarding corruption. The accused persons were stated to have illegally transferred 22-kanal government land at Nehri in Tangi tehsil, Charsadda.
The board also authorised an inquiry against employees of Small Industrial Development Board, Mardan, regarding embezzlement of funds.
The accused persons are stated to have illegally allotted 36 plots at small industrial estate, Mardan, to their blue-eyed persons.
The board also authorized inquiry against Ziaullah Khan and Noroz Khan (private person) of Bajaur Agency regarding cheating the public at large on the pretext of modaraba business.
It approved an inquiry against officers/officials of Mardan Medical Complex regarding making overpayment of Rs200 million to contractors for renovation of the complex.
