Quetta Customs I&I foils bid to smuggle wine, perfumes

QUETTA: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation foiled a bid to smuggle huge quantity of bottle of wines and international non-duty paid perfumes spray priced at Rs 5.24 million.

Sources told Customs Today that Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Muhammad Akram Chaudhary received secret information that some smugglers are trying to smuggle bottle of wines and international non duty paid perfumes spray from Quetta into Thatta and Makli.

He constituted a raiding team under the supervision of Superintendent Wajahat Hussain Abro and others. The team enhanced the surveillance on Kuchlak Road and started to search of vehicles.

The team intercepted a van bearing registration no: QX.352 which was going from out of Quetta. During the checking, the customs team recovered 200 bottles of wines and 600 bottles of international perfumes spray which were tactfully hidden under the seats of vehicles valued at Rs 5.24 million.

The customs team impounded all the sacks of smuggled items and arrested a smuggler. Sources told that an FIR will be lodged after 48 hours after investigation.
