Customs Adjudication-I retrieves Rs5.34m from M/s Amjad Ishaq Advertisements

KARACHI: The Customs Adjudication-I served a final notice on a defaulter company named M/s Kaabli AC & Accessories Karachi and recovered Rs5.34million from M/s Amjad Ishaq Advertisement Gharo.

M/s Kaabli AC & Accessories Karachi was allegedly involved in the tax evasion. The company imported different types of air-conditioners, vehicles and AC parts on July 18, 2017 through Examiner Ayyub Arain and used the wrong PCT heading.

After a careful investigation, the Customs Adjudication-I issued a final notice to the company on April 20. According to the final notice, the defaulter company will have to deposit an amount of Rs4.25million within 14 days.

Source said another company M/s Amjad Ishaq Advertisement Gharo got cleared a consignment of special pena-flex sheets, paper-rolls, printing ink, steel board angles and other articles on November 22,, 2017 and evaded a tax of Rs5.34million.

After the investigation, the Customs Adjudication-I served a show cause notice on the company on March 29, 2018 but it failed to clear the tax amount.

The Collector Customs Adjudication-I issued a final notice to the company on 4th of April 2018. After receiving the notice, the company deposited Rs5.34million in favor of the Customs Department on 19, April.
