Six ships take berth at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Six ships, Prosper, MSC Pina, Dream Ocean, New Legend Ruby, Loka Ja and UACC lbn Al-Hatham carrying Containers, General cargo, LNG and Diesel oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi-purpose Terminal, Engro Elengy Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Monday.

Meanwhile six more ships With scheduled to load/offload Containers, Cement, Coal, Soya Bean seeds, General cargo and LNG also arrived at outer anchorage of Port during last 24 hours.  A total of eleven ships namely, Prosper, MSC Pina, Safmarine Nyassa, Dream Ocean, New Legend Ruby, Vindonissa, Amis Wisdom-Vi, Sakizaya Champion, King Kraft, Loka Ja and UACC Ibn Al-Hatham are currently occupying PQA berths to load/offload Containers, General Cargo Soya Bean Seeds, Coal, LPG, LNG and Diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 154,875 tonnes, comprising 120,960 tonnes import cargo and 33,915 tonnes export cargo inclusive of  containerized cargo carried in 2,993 containers (TEUs,), (1,208 TEUs imports and 1,785 TEUs exports) was handled at the port.

Two container vessels Prosper & Safmarine Nyassa, nd a gas carrier King Craft sailed out to sea on Monday morning.

Four ships, MSC Vanessa, New Ark, YM Mirand and AL-Gharrfa carrying containers, Chemicals and LNG are expected to take berths at QICT VTL and EETL respectively on Monday.
