Rs300m allocated for Human Rights in PSDP 2018-19

ISLAMABAD: The government has allocated Rs. 300 million for six ongoing and new schemes of Human Rights for the fiscal year 2018-19 in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).

The budgetary allocation included Rs. 198.5 million for three new schemes including Rs. 91 million for Acquisition of Construction of Building for National Institute of Human Rights Islamabad followed by Rs 60 million for construction of Working Women Hostel, G-6/2, G-7/3, Islamabad.

However, an amount of Rs. 47.36 million was reserved for Institute Strengthening of Regional Directorates of Human Rights, Lahore, Karachi and Quetta.

While Rs101.5 million have been earmarked for three on-going schemes with Rs. 43 million for Institutional Strengthening of Ministry of Human Rights, followed by Rs. 35.5 million for Establishment of National Institute of Human Rights, Islamabad and Rs. 23 million for Implementation of Action Plan for Human Rights in Pakistan.

All the projects have been funded by the indigenous resources of the government and not a single penny has been taken as foreign grant, revealed the budgetary document.
