PM directs Chairman FBR to open bank accounts of Sindh govt

KARACHI: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has directed the chairman of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to open freeze bank accounts of the Sindh government.

According to sources, Abbasi called on FBR Chairman Tariq Pasha and discussed different issues, including frozen bank accounts of the Sindh government.

The prime minister asked Tariq Pasha to direct the Regional Tax Offices concerned to open the bank accounts of the Sindh government as soon as possible, informed the sources.

The sources further stated that on the directives of the higher authorities of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) the officers of the Regional Tax Offices freeze different bank accounts of the Sindh government for recovery of millions of rupees.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi also directed Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Tariq Pasha to sit and talk with the Government of Sindh over the issues of millions of rupees recovery, added the sources.

Two three days back the officers of the Regional Tax Offices of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) freeze several bank accounts of different departments of the Sindh government against the recovery of taxes worth millions of rupees.
