Customs ASO seizes huge quantity of smuggled blankets

FAISALABAD:The Customs Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) Faisalabad has confiscated 9000-Kgs of foreign origin blankets of different brand and worth Rs3,6000,000 involving duty and taxes amounting to Rs 1,55,0000. Besides impounded Mazda truck Rs6,000,000.

Sources told Customs Today, that Collector Mirza Mubashir Baig received credible information through regarding the smuggling of blankets through M/s Al Madina Goods Transport Company Begumkot.

Following the information, the ASO team intercepted Mazda truck bearing registration no: LES-4681 and recovered 9000 kilogram of blankets. The team asked the accused persons named Ghulam Shah son of Haji Jabbar Shah to show the documents regarding the legal import of the item, but he remained failed. Therefore, all the smuggled blankets were seized. The ASO team comprising Superintendent Tanveer Raza Naqvi and others sepoys conducted the raid.
