Faisalabad ASO seizes 310 drums of petroleum products

FAISALABAD: The Anti -Smuggling Organization has seized drums of petroleum product 310 drums during a raid near sadhar bypass jhang road.

According to details, Collector Mirza Mubashir Baig received information regarding the smuggling of petroleum product drums. After receiving the information the collector formed a raiding team comprising Superintendent Tanveer Raza Naqvi Inspector Farhan Frank and Sepoy Zulifqar Ali Wahla, Abdul Sattar and Muhammad Yasin.

The raiding team intercepted trailer bearing registration no:TLN-715 loaded with 310 drums weight in 51920 kilograms. The department also impounded trailer under section 157(2) of the Customs Act 1969 which was used for smuggling purpose.

The raiding team asked the driver namely Bilal Ahmed son of Rehmat ullah to produce legal documents regarding import of items but he failed to produce any documents.

After their failure the raiding team seized the petroleum product whose market value is Rs5.1 million involving duty and taxes of Rs 1.3 million. Further investigations are still in progress till the filing of this report.
