ISLAMABAD: The Anti- Smuggling Organization (ASO) Islamabad seized huge quantity of foreign origin smuggled goods from a passenger bus coming from Peshawar to Rawalpindi.
According to details Additional Collector Ishfaque Khan received information that a passenger bus loaded with huge quantity of foreign origin smuggled goods will try to enter into Rawalpindi.
After getting the said information, Assistant Collector Majid Hussain Gaad formed a squad and established a check post at GT road Rawalpindi-Peshawar and intercepted the Hino bus.
Sources told the ASO squad found that bus was loaded with huge quantity of foreign origin goods including 320 numbers of Vatika body lotion, 749 numbers of foreign origin fake cigarettes of different brands, 1550 numbers of Vatika hair oil, LED TVs and foreign origin tooth pastes.
The sources told that after completion of search process ASO staff asked the possessors of smuggled foreign origin goods to show any proof if the recovered goods are not smuggled but the possessors failed to do so, then the ASO staff seized the above said smuggled goods along with offending vehicle and shifted it to State Ware House (SWH). ASO staff registered an FIR and forwarded the case to Investigation and Prosecution (I&P) department for further action.
The ASO staff conducted the said operation comprised Assistant Collector Majid Hussain Gaad, Superintendent Malak Abid Hussain, Inspector Syed Muhammad Ali Shah and other supporting staff of grade v. Total value of goods along with passenger bus was estimated at Rs2 million.
