It has been reported by the Directorate General of Customs that on a tip off the staff of the anti-smuggling signaled a trailer loaded with non-duty paid smuggled auto-parts to stop and asked the driver to show documents but the owner defied. No import and auction documents could be produced in terms of recovered auto parts.

So collector adjudication has issued a show cause notice to the owner of the items as to why the vehicle should not be impounded and why penal action should not be taken against him under Section 156 (1) (89) of the Customs Act 1969.
