Mianwali ASO impounds non-customs paid Hino truck

MIANWALI: The Anti-Smuggling Organization(ASO) has successfully impounded illegally imported foreign-origin Hino truck worth Rs 1.6 million involving duty and taxes to the tune of Rs 1.7 million.

Sources told Customs Today that ASO authorities received credible information regarding smuggling of Hino truck which was brought into country through illegal way. Soon after receiving the information authorities concerned of ASO constituted a raiding party comprising Azhar Hussain Jafri (inspectors), Muhammad Saifullah, Mohammad Ghulam Mohyuddin, Faiz Ahmed, Sher Ahmed, Saeed Rasool, Mohammad Saifullah  and Riasat Hussain driver.

The raiding party intercepted a Hino truck bearing registration No: GLTD-3637 at M.M. Alam Road. The raiding party asked the driver Nasir Ahmed to produce documents regarding legal import of vehicle but he failed to produce the documents. Upon his failure the raiding party seized the vehicles. Further proceedings are still under progress till the filing of this report.
