Collector Adjudication Seema Raza summons accused involved in currency smuggling

ISLAMABAD: Collector Adjudication Seema Raza Bokhari issued a show cause notice to accused Saeed Kazim who is involved in smuggling of foreign origin currency of 200,000 Saudi riyals. The accused was intercepted by Khasadar Force Torkham under section 156(1)(2)(8)(70)(89) and (90) of Import and Export (Control) Customs Act 1950.

According to brief facts, the accused was intercepted from Torkham Gate, Khyber Agency by Khasadar force. During routine checking, the Khadar force intercepted the above-named accused and recovered 200,000 Saudi riyals while the passenger was going to Afghanistan.

The sources told that during investigation the accused told investigation officer that he was taking money in his shoes along him to buy an ice factory from Afghanistan to avoid the charges of bank. The sources added that the aforesaid accused has violated section 2(s) 16 &139 of the Customs Act 1969 section 3(1) Imports and Exports (Control) Act 1950. The sources told that Collector Adjudication has ordered the accused to appear on 31st May 2018 to submit reply to this show cause notice.
