Multan Customs I&I detains consignment of foreign-origin thread

MULTAN: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation detained a consignment of foreign origin thread in their action.

According to details, Deputy Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Khial Muhammad Khan received a credible information that huge quantity of smuggled threads are transported.

Deputy Director Khial Muhammad Khan formed special team which comprised of Inspector Umer, Inspector Nasir, Inspector Amjad and others to foil bid of smuggling. Customs Intelligence teams were alerted and patrolling of the region was enhanced in order to intercept the said consignment.

Field intelligence staff intercepted the suspected consignment which were loaded with foreign-origin thread and asked owner to produce legal documents.

The driver of the vehicle who was later identified as Muhammad Khan produced import documents to Customs Intelligence staff and they detained the said consignment for physical verification and examination of documents.

It was also revealed that said consignment of foreign-origin thread was legally cleared from Karachi port and it was going to Faisalabad which will be consumed in the manufacturing of clothes in the textile industry.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation has detained foreign-origin thread and further action is under way. The net value of the seized thread is almost Rs10.5 million.
