ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has directed the Customs Department to make required steps for implementation of Pak-China Electronic Data Exchange (EDE) system.
The EDE has been rolled out on May 28, 2018 and will cover exchange of data relating to certificate of origin under Pak-China Free Trade Agreement along with relevant export goods declaration (GD).
According to the directives issued by the FBR, the traders or customs agents filing import GD will be required by WeBOC system to declare certificate of origin number and data issued by Chinese authorities.
The system shall cross match the declared certificate of origin number and date with the data received from China customs and make available the certificate of origin and export GD data received from China customs through EDE mechanism on assessment screen.
The assessing officer will be able to view the data for system based verification of certificate of origin and proper assessment of import GD on the basis of certificate of origin and relevant Chinese export GD data received electronically from China Customs.
