ASO investigates culprit involved in smuggling of 1800 liters of HSD

KARACHI: Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has taken custody of the smuggled High speed Diesel (HSD) worth millions of rupees.

According to details, Customs ASO has registered a case against a driver Asad Ullah son of Inayat Ullah who is involved in heinous crime of smuggling.

The source informed Customs Today that the Orangi town police station mobile during a routine patrolling intercepted a vehicle Toyota Surf No IDL-531. After its checking, huge quantity of smuggled Iranian origin High Speed Diesel (HSD) worth millions of rupees was recovered.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Orangi Town Abid Ali Baloch along with other officers of Orangi Town Police Station contacted the authorities of the Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) and handed over the seized smuggled Iranian origin HSD as well as the driver of the vehicle after completion of legal proceedings under section 550 Code of Criminal Procedure.

The source has also informed that the officers of the ASO have registered the case as per their rules and regulations whereas the investigation has been started from the driver of the ten wheeler truck.

The source further informed that the Iranian origin HSD) was being transported through ten wheeler truck no IDL-531 hidden in different portions of it.

The source in the customs informed that the culprits were transporting 1800 liters of smuggled Iranian origin HSD from Balochistan to other parts of the country. Under jurisdiction of the Police Station, 3000 litres smuggled Iranian origin HSD was also apprehended two days ago and handed over to the ASO.
