Qatar wins five gold and a silver in ITEX Malyasia

Doha: Qatar has won five gold medals and one silver medal yesterday in ITEX Malaysia2018 (International Invention, Innovation & Technology Exhibition).

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education yesterday tweeted that “Qatar has been crowned today through its students and schools winning five gold medals and one silver medal in the ITEX Malaysia 2018 (International Invention, Innovation & Technology Exhibition) which is taking place on May 10-12, 2018 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia”.

The Ministry of Education also said in its tweet: “Thanks Qatar’s Science and Technology Park, member of Qatar Foundation for supporting the Qatari team to take part in this exhibition, as well ours thanks to the Qatar’s Ambassador in Malaysia, Issa bin Mohammed Al Manaai, for his efforts provided to our students and efforts carried out by the embassy for the comfort of the students and accompanying team”.

Smart Alarm for Seizure Patients (SASP) by Sarah Kaml Aldin Hamza and Hassah Nasser Ahmed Al Suwaidi from Al Bayan Secondary School for Girls; Indoor Navigation for Visually Impaired Students by Amna Al Muhannadi, Talla Amer Al Lawzi, and Nada Esam also from Al Bayan Secondary School for Girls won gold medals.

Using Picture Processing for Automatic Classification of Wastes by Abdulrahman Fahad Yusef Al Muzafar and Mahmoud Albulhamed Al Qassim from Ahamed bin Hambal Secondary School and Tariq bin Zeyad Secondary School for Boys also gold medal.

Other devices were also presented by students including Device for Voice Recognition by Al Dana Al Dawsari, Alyaa Al Kuwari and Mazfar Nuralddin from Al Bayan Secondary School, Al Maha Academy and Musaab bin Umair Secondary School for Girls.

Marine Degradable Plastic Products based on Soybean were presented by Sharif Ahmed Al Muhanndi and Thajeya Mohammed Yacob Al Hail from Al Khor Secondary School for Girls.

ITEX is one of the largest international competitions in the field of scientific inventions which is being held for the last 28 years.

This year more than 1000 inventors from 23 different countries participated in the exhibition’s various scientific and technical fields.
