Customs Preventive seizes huge quantity of NCP dry batteries, welding rods

LAHORE: Collectorate of Anti-Smuggling Organization has impounded millions of rupees non-customs paid welding rods and dry batteries.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Preventive Faiz Ahmad received credible information about some smuggling attempts. He immediately constituted a team to foil attempt of smuggling.  The ASO team raided a godown located at Brandrath Road and recovered illegally imported Rs 07 million welding rods.

The sources said that the authorities seized the rods as the owners failed to produce legal documents against 126 cartons of NCP rods.

Sources said that in another raid the ASO seized 72 dry batteries worth Rs 1.2 million. The sources said that the owners of the batteries failed to produce any legal documents against the batteries so the goods were seized.

The sources said that the customs authorities impounded the goods and registered cases against the accused parties.
