Multan Customs seizes vehicles & goods worth Rs60.03m

MULTAN: Customs Collectorate Anti-Smuggling Organization impounded vehicles and smuggled items of Rs.60.03 million in their different actions during May 2018.

According to details, Multan Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) carried out several anti-smuggling operations in the jurisdiction in the month of May. Anti-Smuggling Organization launched rigorous crackdown on smuggled vehicles in the region. The Customs Collectorate enhanced monitoring of various routes adopted to prevent transportation of smuggled vehicles and goods in the jurisdiction.

Customs Anti-smuggling Organization intercepted 17 various vehicles of different brands and models worth Rs47.53 million through out May in their actions in the territory.

These impounded vehicles included Toyota Land Cruiser, Toyota Hilux Surf, Toyota Premio, Toyota Vitz and others. Majority of seized vehicles found non-tampered during examination of Customs Anti-smuggling Organization (ASO).

Anti-smuggling teams reduced the movement of smuggled items in the region due to their extensive crackdown in the region. Customs formed 10 seizure cases of Rs.13.50 million in May.

Multan Customs Collector Ambreen Tarar directed Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) to intensify anti-smuggling operation in the region to curb smuggling.
