Multan RTO detects 16 candidates as non-filers during scrutiny process

MULTAN: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Regional Tax Office (RTO) has declared 16 candidates as non-filers who are participating in the general election after verification of their tax records.

According to details, Federal Board of Revenue is assisting Election Commission of Pakistan by providing required information regarding candidates who have submitted their nomination papers for contesting elections for National Assembly and Provincial Assembly.

Chief Commissioner Regional Tax Office Dr. Khalil Ahmad formed special committee led by Deputy Commissioner Inland Revenue Abid Gulshan for assistance of Election Commission of Pakistan for scrutiny process. The declaration papers filed by candidates will be verified through Federal Board of Revenue, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and other departments.

The Regional Tax Office has completed scrutiny of nomination papers filed by General Secretary Pakistan Muslim League (N) District Multan Sheikh Athar Mumtaz, Zain Ali Shah, Muhammad Ibad, Rana Ghazanfar Ali Pehalwan, Muhammad Siddiq, Qadir Nawaz Saangi, Amir Khan Badozai, Sardar Maqsood Khan Laghari, Zeeshan Haider, Husnain Abbas, Musarrat Ara, Tahir Khan, Shamoona Ambareen, Hasni Mubarak and Mazhar Iqbal have never submitted any tax details as they have no tax record. These candidates submitted nomination papers for participating in the upcoming elections in different constituencies of Multan.

During the scrutiny of Regional Tax Office Multan, said candidates were found non-taxpayer and they have not any NTN for the filing of tax returns.
