Peshawar Customs posts shortfall of 23.79pc in revenue collection of June

PESHAWAR: The Custom Collectorate failed to achieve its target like the previous year June 2017 and collected Rs1790 million against Rs2348 million of the June 2017, showing a shortfall of 23.79 percent.

According to the statistical section of the of the Customs Collectorate, the house under head of custom duty collected Rs861.52 million against Rs1182.32 million having difference of minus Rs321 million while the difference in percentage was minus 27.15 percent.

Under head of sale tax on import, the Collectorate collected Rs399.15 million against Rs541.52 million, having difference of minus Rs142.37 million while the difference in percentage was minus 26.29 million.

Under head of sale tax as federal excise duty (FED) on palm oil the house collected Rs149.55 million in June 2018 as compared Rs187.44 million having the difference of minus Rs37.89 million awhile the difference in percentage was minus 20.21 percent.

Under head of sale tax value addition on commercial importers the house collected Rs57.33 million in June 2018 against Rs71.25 million having difference of minus 13.92 percent while the difference in rupees was minus 19.54 percent.

Under head of federal excise duty, Peshawar Customs house collected Rs13.45 million in June 2018 against Rs20.81 million of June 2017, having difference of minus Rs7.36 million while the difference in percentage was minus 35.17 percent.

Under head of withholding tax, the house collected Rs309.02 million in June 2018 against Rs345.43 million of June 2017, having difference of minus Rs36.41 million while the difference in percentage was minus 10.54 percent.

It is to mention here that Customs Collectorate failed to achieve its revenue target for the month of June and almost in every section the house does not met its target to surpass collection of June 2017.
