Multan Customs impounds non-customs paid Toyota Premio during checking

MULTAN: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) impounded non-customs paid vehicle from Multan during routine checking.

Sources told Customs Today, that Anti-Smuggling Organization started crackdown against non-customs paid vehicles and goods on the directions of Collector Ambreen Ahmad Tarar.

Deputy Collector Saqib-ur-Rehman formed anti-smuggling squad at various points of entry and exits of the Multan to foil any attempt of smuggling.

Inspector Muhammad Saleem, Inspector Khalid Hussain , Muhammad Hashim, Murtaza Jamshaid and Amjad Perviaz was performing duties near Nag Shah Chowk and doing routine checking of vehicles .

Anti-smuggling  the Toyota Premio on suspect of Smuggling during their routine checking and asked driver to produce import documents of the said vehicle. During the examination of customs, the presented documents were proved forged during verification of customs.

The ASO seized the non-customs paid vehicles after verification of import documents under Customs act 1969.The value of seized Toyota Premio vehicle was almost Rs1.5 million and the model of vehicle was 2008. Further investigations are still under way till the filing of this report.
