Mianwali ASO seizes smuggled Iranian diesel worth Rs5.8m

MIANWALI: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization seized smuggled  9000 liters of Iranian diesel worth Rs5.8 million involving duty and taxes amounting to Rs 3.2 million  besides carrier vehicle during operation in Mianwali.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Mirza Mubashir Baig received credible information regarding smuggling of Iranian origin diesel.

Soon after receiving the information he formed a ASO team under the supervision of Additional Collector Muhammad Saeed Asad which also includes Superintendent Sardar Muhammad Choudhary, Inspector Tanveerul Haq Amer Mumtaz Bajwa, Atif Mumtaz and Sepoy Ghulam Mohyuddin, Muhammad Iqba,l Hafiz Naseer also took part in the operation. The ASO team intercepted oil tanker near M.M Alam Road Mianwali  and recovered smuggled Iranian diesel.

The ASO team asked the driver of the oil tanker to produce legal documents regarding import possession of Iranian diesel but he failed to produce the same. After his failure ASO team seized the Iranian oil and registered a case number 42/2018 against its owner.
