UAE:DP World and Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) have signed a strategic agreement designed to support the UAE’s position as a major exporter of the metal. As a result, EGA will lease a dedicated storage area, which at 175,000m2 is the largest the company has ever used, at Jebel Ali port. This will offer EGA storage capacity for almost 60,000 tonnes of aluminium and up to 1,200 teu of containers, facilitating export flows through the port.

Abdulla Kalban, managing director and chief executive officer of EGA, said:
“Proximity to the UAE highly efficient ports is one of our global competitive advantages, and we are glad to extend our decades-long partnership with DP World at Jebel Ali. We are two champions of economic diversification in the UAE, and that makes our work together important not just for our respective companies, but also for our nation.”
