LAHORE: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) team raided a godown in Butt Plaza near Badami Bagh Larri ada and recovered huge quantity of non-duty paid auto parts. The market value of recovered auto parts is Rs60 million.
Sources told Customs Today, that Director Customs Intelligence Rubab Sikandar received credible information that huge quantity of non-duty paid auto parts are dumped in a godown. She immediately constituted a customs anti-smuggling squad under the supervision of Additional Director Mumtaz Ali Raza and Deputy Director Usman Tariq. The team also includes Superintendent Mohammad Sarwar, Zulfiqar Ali Dogar, Agha Sultan Haider, Sohail Murtaza, Hamid Babar and Tipu Sultan.
The above mentioned team raided two godowns which belonged to Arshad Khan and Akbar recovered and recovered the auto parts. At the time of raid one person who was identified as Mujahid Khan failed to provide any relevant legal documents regarding storage of auto parts.
Customs Intelligence team shifted all the auto parts to the office of Customs I&I and after registering a case started further investigations.
