Quetta Customs starts crackdown on illegal petrol pumps

QUETTA: Customs Collectorate under the supervision of Collector Ashraf Ali started crackdown on illegal mini petrol pumps and recovered 25000 liters diesel during different operations.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Ashraf Ali received credible information about some fake petrol pumps which are functioning in the city and involved in selling smuggled Iranian diesel. He immediately constituted a raiding team under the supervision of Additional Collector Zubair Shah comprising Deputy Collector Maqbool Baloch, Superintendent Maqsood Durrani Aslam Khan, Inspectors Naseer Shaheen, Shahzad Akhtar, Jameel Kakar, Ghulam Hussain Khoso, Shabir Khan, Essa Khan and others.

The customs team started checking of petrol pumps documents. During checking the team asked most of the owners of the petrol pumps to produce legal documents regarding establishment of petrol pumps, but some of the owners failed to provide any relevant legal documents. After their failure customs team destroyed these petrol pumps.

Sources told that during destruction process, the team also recovered foreign origin Gutkha, betel nuts, cigarettes , diesel, zinc ingots and NCP vehicles at certain check posts worth Rs30 million.
