FBR Chairperson Rukhsana Yasmeen visits Customs I&I to review anti-smuggling measures

LAHORE: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairperson Rukhsana Yasmin visited the Directorate of Customs Investigation and Intelligence.

Sources told Customs Today on Friday the FBR chairman was given briefing about the customs investigations and intelligence all across the country.  It was informed that due to the rising smuggling activities the FBR chairperson instructed the Customs I&I Director General Shaukat Ali to curtail the menace to a minimum level. She was quoted saying that the major markets were dumped with the illegal items across the country and keeping in view the changing circumstances strict and zero tolerance.

On the other hand, DG Shaukat Ali welcomed the FBR chairperson and assured THE chairperson of all out efforts for the curtailment of the smuggling and illegal business of illegal trade.  It was said that the chairman was briefed by the directorate of various measures taken up by the directorate on the countrywide.
