MULTAN:Anti-Smuggling Organization seized 40,000 liters of smuggled High Speed Diesel (HSD) in their action on 30.12.2018 Thursday.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Ambreen Tarar received credible information that huge quantity of smuggled High Speed Diesel (HSD) will be transported to South Punjab. Deputy Collector Saqibur Rehman formed special team to intercept smuggled High Speed Diesel.

Inspector Muhammad Ali,  Riaz Joiya, Kaleemullah and others participated in the action against smuggled HSD after receiving the said information.

Anti-smuggling squad started patrolling in the suspected routes of Sadiqabad and its adjourning areas to thwart any attempt of smuggling in the region. Anti-Smuggling Organization initiated strict monitoring of carriage to restrain smuggling from jurisdiction.

Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization team intercepted suspicious oil tanker coming from Muzaffargarh near Sher Shah bye-pass in their action and asked the said driver to produce import documents of said petroleum products and its oil tanker.

Customs staff found during their examination that oil tanker was filled with 40,000 liters High Speed Diesel oil and they failed to provide any import documents to Customs anti-smuggling squad for verification and customs teams detained the oil tanker along with 40,000 liters of HSD.

Customs teams told Customs Today that said HSD was coming from Baluchistan after smuggling through clandestine route in the country and it was non-duty paid Iran Origin.

Customs teams seized the said High Speed Diesel in their action after confirmation of smuggled one along with said oil tanker under Section 157(2) of the Customs Act 1969 being used for smuggling of non-duty paid goods. The net value of the seized HSD was almost Rs.4 million.Further investigations are still under process.
