ISLAMABAD: The Customs North Region suffered shortfall of Rs1212 million under all heads during the month of August Fiscal Year 2018-19 against assigned revenue collection target.
According to details told by sources of Federal Board of Revenue, during month of August, the North Region faced shortfall due to Eidul Azha holidays.
The sources added that the North Region was assigned Rs4174 million revenue collection target under all heads for month of August FY18-19, while it received Rs.2962 million under all heads, showing 29% shortfall against the assigned revenue target under all heads.
The sources said that during the above-said period, the North Region showed -39% difference under head of customs duty (CD) with shortfall of Rs534 million. They added that North was assigned revenue collection target of Rs1369 million under head of CD while it received Rs834 million.
Sources informed that North Region showed -18% of difference against assigned revenue collection target under head of sales tax (ST) with shortfall of Rs299 million. They added that North Region was assigned revenue collection target Rs.1636.30 million under head of ST whereas it earned Rs1336.69 million under same head for month of August FY2018-19.
The North region showed -81% difference under head of federal excise duty (FED) against assigned revenue collection target while it showed shortfall of in amount of Rs134 million. They added that North was assigned Rs165 million revenue target while it earned Rs30.99 million under head of FED during month of August FY18-19.
The sources stated that North showed -24.26% of difference under head of Income Tax (IT) with shortfall with amount of Rs.243.61 million under head of ST against assigned revenue collection target for month of August. They added that North was assigned Rs1004 million under head of ST while it received Rs760.39 million of sales tax.
