Sara-i-Muhajir ASO seizes smuggled goods

SARA-I-MUHAJIR: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) seized foreign origin miscellaneous goods worth Rs6,55,000.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Dr. Asif Mehmood Jah received information regarding some smuggling attempts. After receiving the tip off he constituted ASO team under the supervision of Superintendent Chaudhary Sardar Muhammad, Inspector Mehmood Ahmed Dogar and Ghulam Muhammad to thwart these attempts.

The ASO team intercepted a passenger Bus registration number Z-4992 near Dajal Bus Stop Bhakkar and recovered foreign origin Max Turbo mobile phone 145 pieces, shampoo 180 kilograms and auto parts 30 kilograms.

The ASO team asked the driver to produce any documents showing the legal possession and import of the goods items but he failed to show any documents on which customs impounded the goods items following the prevailing customs laws. After making seizure report the ASO team deposited the confiscated goods items in State Warehouse Sara-i-Muhajir.
