MULTAN: Multan Customs Investigation and Prosecution (I&P) branch lodged FIR against suspect Jameel Ahmed who is involved in smuggling of foreign-origin Hino truck impounded by Anti-Smuggling Organization.
Sources told Customs Today that Anti-Smuggling Organization intercepted Hino truck bearing registration number SMA/070/ Sibi near Sahiwal region on credible information of their source. The impounded Hino truck was found empty during the action. Said truck was seized in the month of April and investigations against owner were under process from last few months.
Multan Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization has finalize seizure report and forwarded the same to Customs Adjudication for trial. Owner Jameel Ahmed submitted import documents to Customs teams during investigation. During verification, Customs teams found documents of vehicles as bogus and after that Customs Investigation and Prosecution branch decided to take legal action against the owner of said Hino truck.
It was also revealed during investigation of Anti-Smuggling Organization that owner was involved in the smuggling of vehicles from cross border through Afghanistan. Smuggling case has been lodged against accused on the direction of Collector Customs Adjudication because the value of seized truck was more than worth Rs3 million.
Multan Customs Investigation and Prosecution (I&P) branch has lodged FIR against accuse Jameel Ahmad son of Nazeer Ahmad who is resident of Chak no.135 Sahiwal regarding smuggling of Smuggled Hino truck. The worth of Seized Hino truck is Rs4.5 million. Customs teams are trying to arrest accused in the said case.
