Suspects involved in theft of mobile phones from State Warehouse arrested

FAISALABAD: The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) arrested suspects who are involved in stealing of large number of mobile phones from State Warehouse (SWH) of Faisalabad Dry Port.

Sources told Customs Today that Customs Collectorate has submitted a First Information Report (FIR) number CJ-6/23/2018-863 against suspects involved in theft of 1661 mobiles having value of Rs11.742.

The CCTV footage shows that incident happened between 1:40 am to 3:00 am whereas four persons are visible in their footage who cut the bars of the fence area and took away 1161 pieces of foreign origin mobile phones.

Regional police officers RPO Ghulam Mahmood Dogar directed to accelerate efforts in curbing theft crime. He constituted a special team of CIA officials including SPCIA Nadeem Abbas DSPCI Saleem Haider Shah and Incharge CIA Saddique Cheema and others.

This team showed great interest towards official duties assigned to them and succeeded to arrest thief Rana Asad Babar, Saqib Cheema and Muhammad Faisal and also recovers 400 mobiles from them near from Chiniot city.

It is pertinent to mention here that accused Saqib Cheema was involved in various cases of mobile smuggling in Faisalabad international airport and there were three cases against pending against him in customs court.
