Quetta Customs foils attempts to smuggle non-duty paid goods worth Rs70m

QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs teams seized huge quantity of smuggled silver, mobile phones, Indian gutka and foreign origin tiles worth Rs.70 million.

Sources told Customs Today that during crackdown against notorious elements the ASO teams posted at different check posts seized huge quantity of foreign origin smuggled goods during last two days.

Sources told that Indian gutka which was concealed in sacks of onions was recovered while 834 bags of Indian gutkha worth Rs50 million was also seized from a vehicle during road checking.

Sources told that ASO team recovered foreign origin diesel in worth of millions while it seized 219 mobile phones of Sony X Sony Experia, Samsung and Motorola.  ASO team recovered 12 kilogram of silver from a passenger bus as well as seized 600 cartons of foreign origin tiles. Total value of seized goods during last two days is Rs70 million.

The anti-smuggling squad was comprising Deputy Collector  Maqbool Baloch, Superintendent Maqsood Durrani, Aslam Khan (Lakpass check post) Yousaf Notezai and Darakhsan (Bolan check post) and Inspectors  Muhammad Shabir Khan, Essa Khan,  Mosam Khan Ishaq George and Abdul Qadir  .
