Customs Preventive collects Rs3667m by registering 20pc growth

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Preventive has collected Rs3667 million on account of duty and taxes during the month of September 2018-19 registering an overall growth of 20 percent during the month under review, the official data disclosed.

The Collectorate collected Rs 830 million on account of withholding tax (WHT) which is 74 percent more than the same period last financial year.  Similarly the Collectorate collected Rs3089 million on account of sales tax (ST) which is 4 percent additional as compared to the same period last financial year.

The Collectorate also collected Rs 1.77 million on account federal excise duty (FED) which is 77 percent  more than the same period last financial years same month.

Overall the Collectorate of Customs Preventive collected Rs7189 million which is showing a positive growth of 20 percent during the compared to same month last FY.

Sources told Customs Today that the Additional Collector Tayba Kiyan has issued strict instruction to all the preventive establishments in Lahore to work hard to increase the revenue collection for the month of October 2018.
