Customs North Region earns Rs9178.77 million during 1Q

ISLAMABAD: Customs North region faced massive shortfall of Rs937 million under all heads during first quarter of financial year 2018-19.

Official sources told Customs Today that during first quarter (July to September) 2018-19, the Customs North Region comprising (Customs Islamabad, Peshawar, Sialkot and Gilgit-Baltistan) received Rs9463.53 million against assigned revenue collection target of Rs10400.80 million under all heads. Sources added that the North Region earned Rs9178.77 million under all heads during the same period of correspondence financial year 2017-18.

Sources said that North region faced Rs670.11 million shortfall under head of customs duty (CD) during the above said period. Customs North Region showed Rs130.61 million shortfall under the head of sales tax (ST) against assigned revenue collection target during first quarter of current fiscal year.

The Customs North region collected Rs32.64 million less revenue under the head of federal excise duty (FED) against assigned revenue collection target while Rs103 million shortfall was witnessed under the head of income tax (IT) during first quarter.

The sources informed that Customs North Region faced Rs137.13 million of shortfall under all heads during month of September FY18-19 as it was assigned Rs 3485 million revenue target while it received Rs3347.87 million.
