Gwadar Customs seizes fine quality wine & illegal medicines worth Rs6m

GWADAR: Collectorate of Customs team seized a number of fine quality bottles of wine and illegal medicine worth Rs 6 million including vehicle being used for smuggling.

Sources told Customs Today  on Thursday that Deputy Collector Gawadar Junaid Mehmood received secret information that some smugglers are trying to smuggle a number of fine quality bottles of wines and illegal medicine from Gwadar to different cities.

After receiving this information, he constituted a raiding team under the supervision of Customs Preventive Inspector Shah Waheed Gul and others. The team, during a search operation on Bar exit way, intercepted a vehicle bearing registration no GXW-0370.

During search, the team impounded more than 200 crates of fine quality wine and huge quantity of prohibited medicines valued at Rs 6 million including truck being used in smuggling.The team seized all smuggled items and arrested truck driver. Sources told that customs official started investigations from accused person.
