Mianwali ASO seizes smuggled tyres during crackdown

MIANWALI: Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) confiscated huge quantity of non-customs paid foreign origin tyres during an action.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Asif Jah Mehmood received credible information about some smuggling attempts in the region. He formed different anti-smuggling squads.

The ASO team intercepted a Hino truck bearing registration no: P-6600 Peshawar near Toll Plaza M.M Road and recovered foreign origin tyres and tubes made in China in different brands.

The owner claimed that the tyres are smuggled and were brought into the country via South Waziristan agency. Therefore the loaded tyres were unloaded from the truck and were brought to the office of superintendent customs ASO. A seizure report was prepared on the spot.

Sources said that seizure report forwarded to the deputy collector adjudication Faisalabad for necessary proceedings.
