Multan Customs earns Rs1251.801m under as petroleum development levy in October

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs collected Rs1251.801 million under the head of petroleum development levy during the month of October 2018-19.

The Collectorate posted handsome growth in the revenue collection of petroleum development levy from clearance of high speed diesel. Multan Customs collected petroleum development levy from oil marketing companies on the clearance of ex-bonding of high speed diesel (HSD) shipments from Multan Dry Port.

The Collectorate generated Rs1251.801 million under the head of petroleum development levy during the fourth  month (October) of economic year 2018-19.While it made collection of Rs1130.648 million as petroleum development levy in the corresponding period of 2018-19.

The Collectorate observed a boost in the collection of petroleum development levy during the fourth months of current fiscal year due to excess clearance of petroleum products from Multan Dry Port of M/s PARCO.

The Collectorate generated Rs.3696.16 million in wake of petroleum development levy in the first four months of economic year 2018-19 from clearance of High Speed Diesel.

It is pertinent to mention that petroleum development levy is levied by federal government on the oil marketing companies for clearance of high speed diesel and Multan Customs collected petroleum development levy on the clearance of ex-bonding of high speed diesel (HSD) shipments from Multan Dry Port.
