M/s Unique Enterprises moves SHC seeking to de-block NTN, user ID

KARACHI: M/s Unique Enterprises approached the Sindh High Court (SHC) seeking to de-block its NTN, CCIE and user ID blocked by Collector of Customs Appraisement West.

On November 19, 2018, counsel for the petitioner stated in his constitutional petition that petitioner is engaged in manufacturing, import and export of textile and other goods and imported different types of textile and other goods for manufacture of finished products which is fluff pulp in this case.

He submitted that petitioner is aggrieved by the actions of the respondents being a government functionary, who illegally blocked the user NTN, CCIE and user ID of the petitioner without serving any show cause notice as required under the law and without giving the petitioner an opportunity of being heard despite the fact that the petitioner is active under the sales tax act, 1990.

Citing Chairman Federal Board of Revenue, Collector of Customs MCC East, Collector of Customs MCC West, Collector of Customs MCC Quetta as respondents, importer pleaded the court may declare that the blocking of NTN, CCIE and user ID of the petitioner without issuance of show cause notice and without opportunity of being heard is illegal, mala-fide and void.

He further pleaded the court may direct them to immediately de-block the NTN, CCIE and user ID of the petitioner’s company.
