MULTAN: Regional Tax Office (RTO) Multan has sent a list of 20 big tax defaulters to Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for further action.
RTO sources told the state-owned news agency on condition of anonymity that these 20 defaulters owe Rs 1897.618 million to FBR and included a power distribution company, a private bank, textile mills, spinning units, and other companies.
RTO officials said that they would proceed further against the defaulters in the light of instructions from FBR.
The initiative was taken after federal government decided to opt for ways to increase revenue including increasing tax base, and tightening noose around the tax defaulters.
