FBR Chairman Jahanzaib assures to resolve issues of tax lawyers

LAHORE: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) chairman Dr Jahanzeb Khan has assured to resolve issues facing the tax lawyers and their clients.

He was talking to a delegation comprising office-bearers of Lahore Tax Bar Association. LTBA President Monim Sultan and others were present on the occasion. The chairman sought the help of tax lawyers for achieving targets.

Earlier, Chairman Jahanzaib Khan visited Regional Tax Offices of the provincial metropolitan to review revenue collection measures.

During his visit to he directed to use all available resources to recover outstanding and evaded tax amount from tax evaders. Chief Commissioner Large Taxpayers Unit Asim Majeed Khan, Chief Commissioner Regional Tax Office-II Sadia Sadaf Gillani, Chief Commissioner Regional Tax Office Syed Nadeem Rizvi, Commissioner Ayesha Imran Butt, Khalid Butt attended the meeting.

Chairman Jahanzaib Khan directed chief commissioners that action should be taken against those who purchased luxury vehicles and residences but avoided to clear the outstanding dues and taxes. He directed that withholding tax cases should be concluded without any further delay.

During his visit, President Lahore Tax Bar Association Monim Sultan, General Secretary Athar Naveed Kiani, Senior Vice President Rehan Sarwar, Finance Secretary Aneeb Akhtar Ansari also called on FBR chairman and discussed various issues being faced by taxpayers.

They appealed to Chairman Federal Board of Revenue to extend the last date for filing of income tax returns.
