Gwadar Customs seizes non-duty paid goods worth Rs12.58m

GWADAR: Collectorate of Customs team seized huge quantity of non-duty paid cigarettes, Indian Gutka and other items worth Rs12.58 million including vehicle being used for smuggling.

Sources told Customs Today on 1-12-2018 that Deputy Collector Junaid Mehmood received secret information that some smugglers are trying to smuggle non-duty-paid cigarettes, Indian Gutka from Gwadar to different cities.

After receiving this information, he constituted a raiding team under the supervision of Customs Preventive Inspector Shakeel Burhan, Moez Khan and others. The team, during a search operation on Highway near Shah Zaman check-post, intercepted a vehicle bearing registration no: GB-0247.

During the search, the team impounded more than 50 cartons (2500 big packets) of non-duty paid cigarettes, huge quantity of Indian origin gutka, different kinds of fancy lighters valued at Rs12.58 million including truck being used in smuggling. The team seized all the goods and after registering a case started further investigations.
