ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has dig out 167 tax evaders and directed the concerned field formations to take action against them, it is learnt here.
Official sources told Customs Today that the board has tighten noose against the tax evaders and dig out more than 167 tax evaders which belonged to Islamabad, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Abbottabad, Karachi and Lahore. Most of these evaders are involved in tax evasion while purchasing property and vehicles however they failed to submit their tax returns, sources confirmed.
Sources said that the board has compiled details of these tax evaders and directed the concerned formations, regional tax offices to take stern action against them by proving a list. The board informed the field formations that list also includes their income and outstanding taxes, with their names and national identity card number. The board also provided details of these tax evaders of outstanding taxes since Fiscal Year 2013-14 till Fiscal Year 2017-18 sources confirmed.
Source also told that 24 tax evaders belonged to Islamabad, 23 are from Lahore, 20 from Bahawalpur, Gujranwala and Faisalabad. While all the remaining are belong to Karachi and Hyderabad and Abbottabad.
